Many local residents are concerned about the Springfield development proposals. More extensive information can be found here.

This development could see up to 1,400 homes built on the site.  The current proposals would see a 12 storey tower block, several 5 to 8 storey blocks, less than one parking space per property and a significant quantity of socially rented housing.

Most residents welcome the improvements to the hospital that the development will bring and the opportunity for more decent sized family homes in the area.  But many are rightly worried about the knock on impact on their quality of life from the current scheme.

Some local residents have organised a public meeting on the subject and have asked Mark to help publicise the meeting.

It is being held on Monday, 12th May at 7:30pm at The Hub, Beechcroft Road (Tooting High Street end).  If you intend to go to the meeting please let the organiser, Sarah Clarke, know by emailing This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it , so they can do some rough planning about the number of chairs needed.
