Tooting is a great part of London. I would like to help make it even better.
I grew up in and around Tooting and Balham and my family still live here. As a teenager I was in and out of St George’s with various broken bones and I still remember the hot blast from my very first curry at Sree Krishna.
I love the rich diversity of the area and have enjoyed seeing it change over the years. However, we face a number of challenges. We need our fair share of police to get crime under control. Our local NHS services must be strengthened and protected. More must be done to encourage home ownership, helping local people get their first step on the property ladder. Commuters deserve public transport that runs on time and that they can rely on. And we must do all that we can to protect the environment.
Tooting deserves a fairer deal. Please join me in helping make that happen.
